Making it easier to transfer ownership of BT, St.George and Westpac policies

As part of our commitment of helping to make your day-to-day easier, we are making a series of operational upgrades to improve how we work together.

We have listened to your feedback on the current BT Cancellation and Replacement/Transfer of Ownership process and have made changes to make it faster and easier for you and your clients.

From Monday 2 December, you no longer need to complete a BT Manual Quote form. Simply request a quote by emailing btlifequotes@tal.com.au with the following details:

  • Parent and flexi policy number
  • Client name
  • Client DOB
  • Ownership change and funding method (for both parent and flexi policy)
  • If transferring with a Westpac / St George staff discount (only available if currently on existing policy) – staff ID number

From Tuesday 10 December, we are reducing the amount of paperwork by more than 50% for your BT clients who wish to transfer ownership of their policy.

We’re also simplifying the categories based on ownership, so you and your clients can easily identify which forms need to be completed based on what structure is being moved to, with only relevant questions for each scenario. These are:

In addition to the above, the BT Personal Statement Short Form, which is required for a handful of scenarios, will now be its own form so it can easily be shared with multi-insured policies.

The Personal Statement is ONLY required to be completed by the insured Person for the cancellation and replacement of:

  1. Protection Plans policies issued under a PDS dates before 28th April 2006: or
  2. St George, Protection Choices policies which commenced before 1 January 2008

If there is more than one insured person, please attach a separate copy for each person.

The new changes mean a simpler way to help your clients transfer ownership, and less admin time for both you and your clients. We’ll keep you up to date as we introduce more upgrades in the months ahead. For everything else, your local Business Development Manager is here to help.
