TAL Health Sense Plus: now available for Income Protection (IP) policies
From 8 August 2025, your clients will receive the TAL Health Sense Plus discount on their new Income Protection (IP) benefitsWe’re extending TAL Health Sense Plus to all new Accelerated Protection policies – both lump sum and now IP benefits – to better support your clients’ long-term health outcomes.
Quick, simple preventative tests play a vital role in detecting and even preventing serious diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart disease. TAL Health Sense Plus was designed to raise awareness of their value, help more Australians engage with preventative health and make life insurance more affordable.
Since TAL Health Sense Plus launched in 2019, over 20,000 customers have received the discount and become more informed about their health¹.
From 8 August 2025, your new IP clients will access TAL Health Sense Plus and receive: |

Later this year, we’ll also invite eligible existing IP clients where policy commenced on or after 24 September 2021² to be part of TAL Health Sense Plus, helping them to save on their premiums and be better informed about their health.

![]() Transition period key dates Applications based on quotes generated prior to 8 August 2025 must be submitted by Monday 8 September 2025. Quotes and incomplete/unsubmitted applications will expire after the transition period, on Tuesday 9 September 2025. A new quote will need to be created in TAC. Submitted applications in proposal will retain the quoted premium as submitted (subject to underwriting review). Tele-interview applications with quotes generated prior to 8 August 2025 must be submitted by Monday 8 September 2025. The tele-interview may be completed after this date. |

The TAL Health Sense Plus discount applies to the premiums for Accelerated Protection Life Insurance, TPD, Critical Illness Insurance and (where applicable) Income Protection plans only. The discount does not apply to per mille loadings, policy fees and stamp duties. Participation is entirely optional and does not impact the terms of existing policies held with TAL, or claims made under those policies. The costs of preventative screening consultations and tests are not reimbursed by TAL, and the results are not required to be disclosed to TAL for the purposes of confirming eligibility for the TAL Health Sense Plus discount. By participating in TAL Health Sense Plus and verifying eligibility for the program, TAL collects data and information which includes participants’ personal information and may include sensitive personal information (Data). By participating in TAL Health Sense Plus, participants consent to TAL’s collection and use of the Data in accordance with the TAL Privacy Policy. Any Data shared with TAL for the purposes of the TAL Health Sense Plus program is used only for assessing eligibility for the discount and is regularly deleted once eligibility has been confirmed. TAL reserves the right to alter or discontinue the TAL Health Sense Plus offer at any time.
